"Focus, follow through and finish.
What do these words have in common? They're all 'F' words. They're words that make creative types cringe. Why are they cringers? See if you've experienced any of the following:
Focus? But why? Living in the land of possibility is so much fun! I have so many great ideas, it's really impossible to focus on any one idea.
Follow Through? Groan. It's so much easier to play with new and energizing ideas! I can't seem to get organized enough to follow through on project ideas.
Finish? Death! If I finish something, then I have to face the question of whether it's any good or not - will anyone want my work? Will it be worth the effort?
The truth is that most of us want to finish. The real cringer comes when we think about all those once-wonderful projects that are now abandoned on the back burner, the bottom drawer, or the garage shelf, gathering dust and silently mocking us and our brilliant ideas."
