Kloka coachen Cynthia Morris ger råd om hur du vårdar ditt författarjag:
"How do you know you are moving forward? Sometimes when we are working on a long project or we feel like our queries are being sent into the void, it's useful to see some gauge of progress. I read about a woman who put beans in a jar to symbolize her progress. This is a great idea because you can see a symbol of movement and the act of adding to the jar provides a ritual that can cap your writing day.
Here are some variations on the theme:
Go back to school.
Place stars or stickers on a calendar for each day you show up for your writing.
Get a shapely vase
or jar and fill it, slowly, with different colored beans. Make it a work of art, a mosaic or sand sculpture. Don't get so carried away that all your creative energy flows away from writing.
Go back to nature.
Plant a window garden. Try little succulents. Add a plant for each milestone -- a month of writing, a chapter finished.
Start a collage board.
Add photos or other mementos that inspire your writing life. For each accomplishment, add another image. Start a file for future postings.
Keep a stack of your writing.
Print out what you write and add to the stack. My manuscript takes up two three ring binders. I love rifling through the pages -- it makes me feel like I have written something! What are your ideas? Use your imagination to help spur your writing along."
